Dear parents and carers,

Tomorrow is the beginning of Phase 1 of the managed return to school. This means that all children will begin to return to school, one day per week.

Please see our previous communication about this plan here: Managed-return-to-school-for-families

In order to maintain safety, there are changes regarding the dropping off and picking up of you child.

There will be staggered times to pick-up and drop-off your child, to reduce the number of people coming at the one time. We are also asking that parents do not enter school grounds at drop-off or pick-up times and although we all would love to chat, we need to move on straight away. Where possible we appreciate your support of this plan but understand we have given short notice. In the event that you can’t drop-off or pickup at the times below, just call our front office and we will endeavor to work something out.

DROP OFF
A teacher will be stationed at the front of the school to receive your child between 8.30-9.00am.
CARS: We will be using the bus stop as the pick up area (no pedestrians). Do not use the drive way to pull in off the road, instead line up in the bus stop and wait for the staff member to direct you. If there is no room, please drive around the block. Please also stay in your car , with your park-break on, and the duty teacher will help your child/ren out of the car.
PEDESTRIANS: drop your child at the pedestrian gate near the crossing. There is no need to come onto school grounds, staff will be present to escort your children in.

PICK UP
CARS: We will be using the bus stop as the pick up area (no pedestrians). Do not use the drive way to pull in off the road, instead line up in the bus stop. If there is no room, please drive around the block. Please also stay in your car, with the hand break on, and the duty teacher will help your child/ren into your car and buckle them in, if required.
PEDESTRIANS: pick up your child at the pedestrian gate near the crossing.  Please line up along the footpath on the crosses in a queue. Staff will hand over your child. There is no need to come onto school grounds.

Late arrivals/early departure:
Please call the school office and an office staff member will meet you at the pedestrian gate to escort your child to or from class.

We understand that children may be upset and have difficulty separating from you. Please know our number one priority is your child’s well-being and we will try our upmost to support you. If needed, you may walk around the bush track with your child to help calm them upon arrival. If required we can arrange for you to accompany them in, however this may need to be after 9.10am. Please speak to the staff out the front of the school or call the office before arriving.

How to Empower Your Child to Deal With School Anxiety

If you have any questions or would like to meet with a staff member, do not hesitate to call the office on 9311 2210.

Regards,

Lisa Haller
