Dear Parents and Carers,

With the announcement this week that in order to deal with the COVID pandemic learning from home will continue for another four weeks, I wanted to assure you that everyone here at La Perouse Public School will do all we can to support you and your children with their education during this difficult time.

Parents and carers have responded magnificently over the last three weeks by doing their utmost to help their children learn from home while also attending to their other responsibilities. Thank you for what you are doing, not just to ensure children continue to be educated but also in observing the Public Health Orders.

Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher during normal school hours if you have any questions about learning from home or related matters.

The NSW Department of Education website has many valuable resources to help parents and carers with this important task, and these are available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/learning-from-home/learning-at-home

The school will continue to provide supervision for the children of essential workers or the children of families where learning from home is not possible.

As a community, we currently face significant challenges; so, I would ask that everyone please look after yourselves and follow the health advice provided by the NSW Government through mainstream news sources. This is the best way for us to stay safe, protect each other and overcome the COVID pandemic as quickly as possible.

Kind regards,

Lisa Haller

Principal | La Perouse Public School
