Dear parents and carers,

I hope this message finds you well.

Thank you for completing the Learning from Home organisation survey. The number of families who have been able to complete this is amazing and very helpful. I hope that the following information answers the questions you have asked.

We are supplying a paper copy of the at home learning activities. Packs can be picked up from 1pm and 4pm on Monday, from outside the school gate or from the hall if raining. Please ensure that when you come to pickup your child’s pack that you check in and out using the QR code, wear a mask and do not mingle with other parents or come further into the school, this is very important. If you can’t pickup your child’s pack, please call the school (9311 2210) after 9am on Monday, and we will try our best to accommodate.

We will be using SchoolStream for school communication but the best was to stay connected is through ClassDojo. Teachers will be using the ClassDojo platform to connect with you all and to post the learning from home overview. Please call us if you are having difficulty accessing Class Dojo or SchoolStream.

We understand that technology is an issue and have tried to design activities that don’t reply on a computer, internet or printer. Teachers will post the weekly learning overview on ClassDojo. Any digital content that your teacher has included can be opened for your child to view on a mobile phone as well as any other devices you may have. Please do not worry if you can not open/access the digital content, it is only an extra, there is plenty of learning in the pack that you will pick up. If Learning from Home continues beyond Friday the 16th, The Department has assured us that technology will be made available to us, to loan to families who are in need.

This is very much dependant on NSW Health directives. As information is constantly changing, the best place to find information related to school is the Department of Educations Advice for Families page –

I have cut and paste a few topics which may be of particular interest below.

Stay safe and look after each other.

A reminder for all families

Students should not attend school if unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms should be sent home and should not return to school until they have received a negative test result and are symptom-free.

In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms, a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.

Anyone who is unwell with COVID-19 symptoms is strongly encouraged to get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received. Find your local testing clinics.External link

Cyber safe families

Refer families to the following resources to support their children in being responsible online users:

Non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites.

Workers supporting the infrastructure development and maintenance of schools can continue on site. This includes contractors, general assistants, farm hands and other grounds support staff.

If you are an essential worker and your child must attend, parents and carers must stay in the car when dropping off and picking up children if it is safe to do so. Mrs Haller will be at the gate from 8.30-9.00am.

Parents should:

  • follow the physical distancing advice for their local area and avoid gathering outside of school gates
  • remain outside of school grounds (some exceptions may exist re SSP, vulnerable students or students with disabilities)
  • adhere to mask-wearing requirements and sign in using the Service NSW QR code when entering the school.
